Two Puffins, Now on Fine Bone China Plates

Some conversations don't need words.

Two puffins, beak to beak, on a green clifftop meadow: that's the moment I painted, and I'm delighted to share it now on fine bone china plates.

The Painting

One puffin faces us with its bright orange beak and its white chest. The other turns away, showing its dark feathers, as if it were sharing a secret. Around them is a lush meadow of layered greens, dotted with tiny touches of colour, like wildflowers hiding in the grass.

I painted it in watercolour, layer by layer, because I wanted the puffins to feel gentle and full of personality. Puffins always look a little serious and a little comical at the same time, and I find that irresistible. 😄

Painted, Then Infused into Fine Bone China

These plates are made from fine bone china, a material known for being delicate and slightly translucent, yet strong.

My watercolour isn't printed on the surface. It's applied using dye sublimation with a heat-transfer process, which infuses the artwork into the china itself. That helps the greens stay rich, the orange beaks stay bright, and the soft watercolour texture come through.

Made in London, Made to Order

Every plate is made in London, England, and handmade to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Yours is made when you order it, then shipped by FedEx or DHL. Taxes and duties are covered, so there are no surprise charges at your door.

Three Sizes, One Pair of Puffins

As you can see in the photo, the design comes in three sizes, and the puffins are positioned to look good on each one. You can use them as:

• Serving plates for cakes, pastries, sandwiches, or a garden tea 🍰
• Dessert plates for a set with a bit of coastal charm
• Display pieces, on a stand or on a wall, where the green background makes a fresh splash of colour

They're food safe. For care, machine wash on a low-temperature cycle below 30°C (86°F).
