Buongiorno. This is my 5th work-in-progress Venice series watercolour painting - Ruga Vechia, Venice Canal, a corner that has been a living, working part of Venice for nearly a thousand years.
I am delighted to share my latest Venice series watercolour painting - Venice Grand Canal Gondolas — Before the Nightfall.
This painting holds a special place in my heart. Venice has always captivated me — not just as a subject to paint, but as a city that speaks directly to the soul. There is something almost otherworldly about the way the last golden light of day settles over the lagoon, casting long shadows across the gondolas as they rock gently at their moorings.
But Venice is more than a beautiful view. It is a city steeped in over a thousand years of history, romance, and extraordinary human ingenuity. And at the very heart of it all — the gondola. More story read here.

A peaceful, sun-drenched hillside unfolds in soft layers of green,
yellow, and crimson in this watercolour painting. In the foreground, a
single cypress tree stands tall and still, its deep green foliage
contrasting with the vibrant wildflowers at its base. Swathes of yellow
blossoms sweep across the mid-ground, leading the eye toward a vivid
band of red flowers that echo the warmth and richness of the Tuscan
earth. Further in the distance, a graceful row of cypress trees lines
the crest of the hill, standing like quiet sentinels beneath a blue sky
dotted with gentle clouds.
I hope you are well. This is my second Lake Como watercolour painting with the Villa del Balbianello in the scene as well. The painting should be done soon. And here are the behind-the-scene, work-in-progress pictures of the painting...
From the studio corner. I used to stand and paint...that's few hours per day. There is so much joy and love painting Lake Como scenery. Italy is beautiful.

New Tuscany landscape and a farmhouse, Italy watercolour painting.
In this video, I am almost completing my watercolour painting of an Italian landscape in Tuscany. You can see me painting the two trees and the landscape at the far end of the landscape. It is a wonderful moment painting this. I hope you will enjoy watching this video.
